Overcoming the Breaking Point

This is a screenplay I wrote which takes place in a small southern town. Its a bout a high school athlete who gets sexually assaulted by his best friend and changes his life. He must come to terms with what happened to him, and mend many broken things in his life. 

UNCA installs first ENO hammock pods

As the first weeks of fall semester begin, UNC Asheville’s community welcomes new students as well as campus additions. Collaborating with Eagles Nest Outfitters, UNCA installed the first ever ENO hammock pods on a college campus.

University unveils solar panel array

As a recently completed part of a continuing sustainability efforts, UNC Asheville unveiled the solar array located on the roof of Overlook Hall last Friday.The 112 panels will generate 50,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per year, powering the equivalent of 250 or more computers, roughly the same number as students housed in Overlook.

Local restaurant owner hosts athletics meet and greet

In an effort to demonstrate the Asheville community’s support for its local college athletics, Mark Sternal, co-owner of Daugherty’s American Kitchen and Drink located in south Asheville, invited the athletic association and the men’s basketball team and staff to his restaurant last Monday.

Tennis season closes with win at Wofford invitational

The UNC Asheville men’s tennis team finished their fall season on a high at the Wofford invitational tournament last weekend with two Bulldogs winning their singles bracket, and two doubles teams making it to the finals.

Tennis team suffers first loss

Going into the match against Liberty University undefeated, the UNC Asheville Women’s tennis

team suffered its first loss of the season.

 

“We haven’t beaten Liberty since I have been here so of course there is this natural tendency to give them too much credit, but this season we have proven to ourselves so far that we are more than capable of beating any team we compete against,” said Christine Boissevain, senior.

 

Despite knowing that Liberty is a great team, Boissevain said she was confident in her team’s talent.
